Understanding Stripe Integration

Stripe is the payment processor that enables you to accept donations securely online. All funds go directly to your bank account, and Tekton's Table never holds your money.

Why Stripe?

  • Secure: Industry-leading security and fraud protection
  • Direct Deposits: Money goes straight to your bank account
  • Transparent: Clear processing fees with no hidden charges
  • Trusted: Used by millions of businesses worldwide

How to Connect Stripe

Step 1: Access Settings

In your dashboard:

  • Go to Dashboard → Settings → Payments
  • Click the "Connect Stripe" button

Step 2: Create or Connect Account

You'll be redirected to Stripe:

  • New to Stripe? Click "Create Account" and follow prompts
  • Have Stripe? Sign in to connect your existing account

Step 3: Provide Business Information

Stripe will ask for:

  • Legal business name (or personal name)
  • Tax ID or SSN
  • Business address
  • Phone number
  • Bank account details for payouts

Step 4: Identity Verification

For security, Stripe requires identity verification. You may need to provide:

  • Government-issued ID
  • Proof of address
  • Additional business documentation

Timeline

  • Immediate: Start accepting test donations right away
  • 1-2 business days: Full verification typically completes
  • 2-7 days: First payout arrives (then automatic after that)

Fees

Stripe charges standard processing fees:

  • 2.9% + $0.30 per successful card charge
  • No monthly fees or setup costs
  • Transparent pricing with no hidden charges

Important: Tekton's Table does not add any additional fees on top of Stripe's standard rates.

Troubleshooting

Verification Taking Too Long?

Contact Stripe support directly at support.stripe.com for verification questions.

Need to Disconnect?

Go to Settings → Payments → "Disconnect Stripe" (note: this will stop your ability to accept donations).
