Accepting Donations on Tekton's Table

Once you've connected Stripe, you're ready to accept donations! This guide shows you how to set up your donation options and start receiving support.

Step 1: Set Up Donation Tiers

Create giving levels that make it easy for supporters to choose an amount:

Go to Dashboard → Settings → Giving

• Set suggested amounts ($25, $50, $100, etc.)
• Create named tiers (Bronze, Silver, Gold Partner)
• Add descriptions for each tier
• Enable custom amount option

Step 2: Enable Recurring Donations

Monthly recurring gifts provide stable, predictable support:

• Toggle on "Allow Recurring Donations"
• Set monthly giving tiers
• Donors can choose one-time or monthly
• Automatic monthly processing through Stripe

Step 3: Customize Thank You Messages

Personalize donor communication:

Go to Dashboard → Settings → Email Templates

• Edit donation receipt email
• Customize thank you message
• Add personal touches
• Include next steps for supporters

Step 4: Add Donation Widget to Your Site

Your donation widget is automatically displayed on your homepage. You can customize:

• Widget title and description
• Progress bar display
• Featured giving tiers
• Call-to-action button text

How Donations Work

1. Supporter clicks "Give" on your site
2. Chooses amount and frequency
3. Enters payment details (Stripe secure checkout)
4. Receives instant email receipt
5. You receive notification of new donation

Payment Timeline

• Immediate: Donation processed through Stripe
• 2-7 days: Funds deposited to your bank account
• Recurring: Auto-charges on same day each month

Best Practices

• Offer multiple giving levels to accommodate different budgets
• Make monthly giving prominent (more stable support)
• Send personal thank-you notes for first-time donors
